Better or Worse?

I have noticed that American Christians are often convinced that according to the Bible the world is going to get worse and worse, not better.

I am deeply concerned about this perspective that it will (and has) led to fatalism amongst Christians.

When I think of the Children of Israel crossing the Jordan I see a God who wants to GIVE us the land. When I remember Daniel's prophecy about a Rock that Strikes the Statue of this world's kingdoms and yet itself becomes a Mountain that fills the whole earth, I see a God that is making things BETTER.

In fact, I am concerned that quite possibly an overemphasis on the "end times" and the world getting "worse and worse" has caused Christians to remove themselves from being Yeast in every area of society.

In short, Christians are abandoning the field and yielding to wickedness due to being convinced that change and progress are not possible, we just need to wait for Jesus to come back.

So I offer a challenge to all to RETHINK that point of view. :-)

    Hi, Wow this is awesome! It was great seeing a discussion starter again. I noticed it had been awhile. Well the Word says that in the last days there will be perilous times(which is in 2nd Tim.) in the world that is and among the wicked in the world. And that sin shall wax worse.

    But as far as i am concerned there is no better time to be living as a christian and to be the salt and light in the world so that all will see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Those christians who are possibly abandoning the field and yielding to wickedness concerns me as well. This is not a time to abandon and jump off the boat. It is time for Christians to rise and bring a message of hope, grace and the love of Jesus and that he is returning to rule and to reign in this earth. Others will be reached with our witness. I believe the only way there is going to be a better kingdom is when Christ sets up His Kingdom here in the earth then all things will be established. So yes there are great days ahead in this world but i don't see it happening until Christ comes to reign in the earth.

    We as the body of Christ can rejoice in our relationship with the Lord and with one another, God meets us and brings us refreshing and His blessings are always with us and His plans for us are good and not to our harm. I believe as a body of Christ we can see and witness miracles in our own lives and in the lives of others who trust in HIM. I am pumped about what is ahead of us. I am excited and i am looking forward to the future of the church body and the souls that will be won before His return!
